Ellevio AB publishes its annual investor report on green financing

The report covers January–December 2023 and includes how the proceeds from green finance instruments have been used up to March 2024.

“Electricity grids are fundamental infrastructure in all modern societies and play a decisive role in the transition to fossil-free energy. 100 percent of Ellevio’s turnover in 2023 is therefore aligned with the EU taxonomy, which contributes to green financing being a central and natural aspect of our financing strategy,” says Jan Seveborg, Head of Treasury at Ellevio.

To date, Ellevio has issued bonds under its Green Financing Framework on three occasions since May 2023:

• In June 2023, a green bond of SEK 3 billion was issued with a six-year term.
• In January 2024, an additional SEK 3 billion green bond with a maturity of eight years was issued.
• In March 2024, Ellevio’s first green bond was issued in EUR, worth EUR 500 million with a ten-year term.

In total, green finance instruments of approximately SEK 11,610 million was raised during 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. All these funds have been allocated to green projects as of the end of March 2024, in accordance with the criteria of the framework.

About Ellevio’s Green Finance Framework

The Ellevio Green Finance Framework was published in May 2023. The framework aims to promote the financing of investments that contribute to achieving the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is adapted to the EU taxonomy and has been reviewed by the analysis institute ISS ESG.
